Question 1

Which statutes does the Legalise library hold?

Accepted Answer

The library spans federal law, the Islamabad Capital Territory, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, held side by side rather than as separate collections, so the same subject can be compared across jurisdictions. Every statute is listed by name and year on its own jurisdiction index, and all six are reachable from https://legalise.pk/statutes/.

Question 2

Does the library say whether a statute is still in force?

Accepted Answer

It states what it can establish and no more. A statute repealed in whole or in part is marked as such and carries the repealing statute's own words. Where the evidence points towards supersession without settling it, that is shown as a possibility and never described as a repeal. Where nothing was found, nothing is claimed, because the absence of evidence of repeal is not evidence that a statute is current. A repealed statute is kept and marked rather than removed, since under section 6 of the General Clauses Act 1897 it continues to govern accrued rights and proceedings already begun.

Question 3

Can the full text of a statute be searched?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A search runs over the full text of every statute that carries a text layer and returns the pages that match, naming the section a match falls in wherever that can be established. Some older statutes exist only as scanned copies. Those return the matching page and send the reader to the government's own published document rather than reprinting a machine transcription of it, because a transcription error inside a section number is a confident citation to a provision that does not exist.
