Legalise is a document drafting and legal research platform for advocates practising in Pakistan, covering Islamabad Capital Territory, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. It produces court-formatted instruments (petitions, applications, affidavits, notices, agreements, plaints) from a single authenticated session, with the court headers, clause language, and signature blocks correct for the jurisdiction and district you select. Coverage below the High Court follows the district you choose; at the High Court, coverage resolves to that court’s principal seat.

The drafting workflow is paired with a research and reference layer: a national Pakistan case-law database of 39,000+ written judgments across eight courts (the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Sindh, and Balochistan High Courts, and the Federal Shariat and Federal Constitutional Courts), all filterable by court, 3,700+ searchable Pakistani statutes across federal law, the federal capital and four provinces, a legal definitions glossary, and a set of Islamabad-specific reference tools, with coverage for other provinces planned.

The Islamabad-specific reference tools (the IHC Practice Rules, ICT Laws Library, Courts in Islamabad, Jurisdiction Decoder, IHC Bench Composition, Stamp Duty Calculator, Court Fee Calculator, Police Stations, and Court Process Guides) are ICT-only for now, with coverage for other provinces planned. Limitation periods are a federal statute and are covered for all of Pakistan. Coverage at the High Court resolves to that court’s principal seat. Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are not covered.

No. Legalise is a drafting and research instrument operated by the member advocate. It does not provide legal advice, does not represent clients, and does not create an advocate-client relationship between Legalise and the member’s clients.

Filing strategy, advisability, choice of forum, and the final form of every document remain the professional responsibility of the member.

The current catalogue spans the core drafting lanes available across all five jurisdictions: writ petitions, civil suits and plaints, criminal applications, contracts and deeds, notices and replies, affidavits and declarations, and miscellaneous court applications.

Each template carries the court header, procedural clauses, and signature block correct for your selected jurisdiction, linked to the member’s verified advocate profile. The catalogue is revised as procedural rules and template usage patterns change.

An instrument is one output generated through Legalise. A petition, application, affidavit, notice, agreement, plaint, compiled case briefing, Matter Reviewer report, or Adverse Reviewer report each counts as a single instrument against the member’s allowance.

Editing a saved document, downloading it again, attaching it to a Desk case file, or sharing it does not consume an instrument. Only the act of generation is counted.

A Research Lab inquiry is not an instrument. It is drawn from a separate Research allowance and is counted on its own, so asking Research Lab never uses one of these.

The four-month retainer runs as four 30-day instrument cycles, each opening with the standard 120-instrument allowance. Cycles run from your activation date, not from the first of the calendar month. At the close of a cycle, any unused instruments are halved and added to the next cycle’s allowance.

There is no ceiling on the carried balance inside an active contract, so a member who underuses one cycle accumulates a working surplus into the next.

If renewal is completed within the seven-day grace period from contract end, up to 100 unused instruments carry into the next retainer. Balances below 100 carry in full. Balances above 100 are capped at 100 and the surplus lapses.

If renewal is not completed inside the grace window, the entire balance is forfeited and re-subscription begins on a fresh 120-instrument first cycle.

No. The four-month retainer is renewed by deliberate member action inside the seven-day grace window. There is no auto-debit, no recurring card mandate, and no silent renewal.

A member who chooses not to renew simply lets the contract close at the end of its term.

A complimentary account is capped at 10 generated instruments and carries no time limit. Nothing expires, so a member who is in court for a month returns to exactly what they left. Complimentary members receive introductory access to the case-law database, statutes, practice rules, glossary, and reference calculators; full ongoing access is reserved for paid members.

Activation requires email verification but no payment instrument. Unused complimentary instruments do not carry over to the paid retainer.

Enrolling converts the account to the four-month retainer immediately. The 10-instrument complimentary cap is replaced with the full 120-instrument cycle allowance from the moment of activation, and the four-month contract clock begins at conversion.

Nobody is penalised for enrolling early, and there is no deadline to enroll against: a complimentary account does not run out.

Refund requests are considered only within the first month of the four-month contract, and only where fewer than one third of the cycle’s allowance, i.e. less than 40 of 120 instruments, has been generated.

Refunds are one-time per member and do not apply on resubscription. Decisions are at the discretion of the Legalise registrar.

A member may decline renewal at any time. The retainer continues to run for its full four-month term once subscribed and is not pro-rated outside the refund window above.

Because there is no auto-renewal, the practical mechanism for cancellation is simply allowing the seven-day grace window at contract end to lapse without renewing.

Direct transfer from a verified EasyPaisa, SadaPay, or NayaPay account to the Legalise wallet. The wallet number is displayed on the payment page after sign-in and is also registered as a Raast ID, so a transfer can be sent through Raast from any bank app.

Transfers are matched to your account and confirmed automatically in most cases.

The stated price is inclusive of applicable charges. A payment confirmation is emailed to the member once the transfer is verified and the membership is active.

It carries the payment reference and the date the membership runs until, in a form suitable for chamber expense records.

Desk is the member’s case workspace inside Legalise. Each generated instrument can be filed to a Desk case alongside notes, attachments, and references to statutes or judgments.

The four-month retainer includes 50 case files at Desk. Editing a saved document, repeat downloads, and Desk attachments do not consume new instruments.

The Case Compiler accepts uploaded inputs (typed text, pasted notes, images, PDFs, DOCX, audio) and produces a single structured case briefing with an executive summary, statutory provisions, procedural history, claims and reliefs, evidence notes, and open questions.

One compile is one instrument and is counted against the same 120-instrument cycle allowance as a drafted document. There is no separate Compiler pool. Inputs that fail pre-flight checks are recorded as exclusions inside the briefing rather than aborting the compile.

Research Lab answers one legal issue at a time. You put the issue to it and it returns a single written research report: the position as the sources establish it, the authorities it relied on listed beside the answer so each can be opened and read, and a plain statement of what the sources do not settle. It searches the Legalise case-law summaries and statute text rather than the open web, and every report is kept and filed to your Desk automatically.

It does not use your instruments. Research Lab inquiries are a separate allowance with their own count: a paid membership carries 180 inquiries every 30-day instrument cycle alongside its 120 instruments, and a complimentary account carries 12 alongside its 10. The two pools do not share and do not eat into each other.

Yes. Every generated instrument is downloadable in Word (.docx) and PDF, and remains editable inside Legalise after generation.

Jurisdiction-correct headers, clause structure, citations, and signature blocks are preserved on export. Re-downloading a generated document does not consume a new instrument.

Every member is issued a static public page at legalise.pk/at-law/{name} carrying the advocate profile the member publishes: name, areas of practice, chamber address, contact information, and bar credentials as provided by the member.

The page is search-engine indexable and listed in the public advocates sitemap, so a client searching your name reaches your own page rather than a listing of other advocates. Legalise publishes no browsable advocate directory. The page can be shared as a single link in correspondence and on professional channels.

The case law library holds 39,000+ written judgments across eight courts of Pakistan (the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Sindh, and Balochistan High Courts, and the Federal Shariat and Federal Constitutional Courts), filterable by court, and is updated monthly as new judgments are reported. The statute set covers 3,700+ Pakistani statutes with searchable full text across federal law, the federal capital and four provinces, including foundational civil, criminal, evidentiary, and constitutional instruments. Amendments are reflected as they are notified.

The corpus is the same for complimentary, paid, and admin tiers during the introductory access arrangement; Legalise reserves the right to revise access to these reference modules in subsequent instrument cycles, with notice provided to active members in advance of any change. That arrangement covers the reference shelf described here. It does not govern Research Lab, which carries a stated inquiry allowance on both tiers, set out at Q.17.

Legalise does not log the contents of a generation. What is stored in full is what you choose to keep: a document you save to Desk, a case file with its notes and attachments, a compiled briefing or reviewer report, and anything behind a share link you create. Those are held so you can open them again and are removed when you delete them, with residual backup copies clearing within 30 days. Everything else is metadata: instrument count, generation timestamps, document type, and member identifier. The Privacy Policy sets out each retention period.

Document contents are not accessed by Legalise staff outside an explicit member-initiated support request. This privacy posture applies to all real member accounts and is not relaxed for promotion, training, or evaluation. Test accounts used internally for engineering are excluded from this contract and are flagged as such.
